Meet Jacob Hallenborg, our very own certified cinema engineer and developer who loves to eat candy in the shower!
Jacob studied history of ideas, philosophy, literature and film before finding his destiny in backend programming. A craft that still, many years down the road, brings a strong sense of pride and joy every time the team manages to get two systems to communicate.
Jacob is a certified analog cinema engineer who’s heart beats for “old technology”. He loves the idea of working in the “shadows”, without anyone in the audience really noticing; until something goes wrong. Which isn’t too far from what it’s like to be a backend programmer. 😉
In a broader perspective, Jacob is curious about the regulatory problems that can arise when running the services we build on US-owned cloud services. Services that have to meet both the EU Data Protection Regulation and US authorities’ requests to hand over data. Will these challenges lead to a shift towards intra-European or even domestic cloud services? Jacob is looking forward to seeing, and being part of, how this affects the solutions we develop.
He also wants to live in new places in the world. Barcelona is closest at hand right now, thanks to Prototyp’s local office and apartment.
